Director of Religious Education

Director of Religious Education
St. Victoria Parish Family (Victoria, MN) – a fast-growing, dynamic suburban parish comprising 1,200 member families – is seeking highly-motivated, experienced and enthusiastic applicants to serve as its full-time Director of Religious Education (DRE). The DRE position exists to ensure that appropriate faith formational programs, catechesis, and related instruction and activities are provided for in the parish setting for all parishioners, so that the name of Jesus may be known and loved.

The principal focus of this position includes providing faith formation and catechesis for students in Grades K-10 (including sacramental preparation), and their parents. Among other responsibilities, the DRE will supervise the work and ministry of the Assistant Director of Faith Formation (K-5) and the Youth Minister (6-10), will coordinate volunteer recruitment and training (as assisted by same), and will ensure sound curriculum implementation and compliance with VIRTUS, Protection of Children and Youth Initiative (PCYI), sacramental record-keeping, and other applicable Archdiocesan requirements. The DRE will be assisted in budgetary, financial and administrative tasks by a part-time administrative assistant.

The successful candidate will be a faithful, practicing Catholic with five or more years of demonstrated relevant experience (with a strong preference for experience in the parish or parish school setting), including at least two years experience simultaneously supervising two or more formational ministry staff persons, and also will have demonstrated spiritual and emotional maturity, including understanding and support of the parish vision and mission to “reach out to all as the face and hands of Jesus Christ.” The ideal candidate also will have a strong background, whether by education or training, in catechesis, education and/or theology. Among other things, the successful candidate also must be able to cheerfully manage multiple responsibilities at one time, while putting the highest premium on responsiveness to the needs of parishioners and volunteers.

Full-time salary and benefits competitive with other Archdiocesan parishes will be offered.
