Focus Groups for Women
"The security of faith does not make us motionless or close us off, but sends us forth to bear witness and to dialogue with all people." Pope FrancisWhole Hearted Living is having a huge impact on the women who attend.
Deb LeMay leads Whole Hearted Living. “Our groups provide a safe, supportive, enjoyable space for women to connect with God, themselves, and one another. Together we explore the mystery of God’s beautiful presence in our lives and in our experiences. Our format is an expanded model of group spiritual direction. Each of us on our own is already committed to prayer and self-reflection. Our facilitated small groups provide us with tools and resources to better understand ourselves, our patterns, and how we navigate our daily lives.”
St. Victoria currently has five small groups that meeting monthly — one group meets in the morning and four groups meet in the evening to accommodate most schedules. Topics covered include: trust; boundaries; fear; vulnerability; curiosity; creativity.
As a spiritual care and integrative health practitioner, Deb LeMay is passionate about assisting others on their personal path towards wellness and healing. Through our faith, we believe God is always present and always accessible. As we learn to tap into this inner wisdom of God’s love and grace, we not only grow in faith, we experience our own emotional, physical and spiritual healing as well.
Father Bob adds, “In hearing stories of others, participants can reflect on how they respond to situations that are easy to be reactive in. They have the chance to slow down and see how the spirit of God is moving. Awareness of themselves helps them know where God might be at work and how the spirit might be leading them. It’s an incredible gift for our parish to have group spiritual direction.”
Women’s Book Clubs are held quarterly. A new book is chosen for reflection and discussion based on relevant topics that women in the parish are seeking more knowledge and clarity on. Past books that have been featured include:
“No Easy Jesus”
“Gaze Upon Jesus”
“Walk in Her Sandals”
“Catechism of Hockey”
