Profiles in Faith–In times of crisis, there always remain the faithful few, men and women who go to great lengths to show mercy and provide hope to those around them. With courage and dedication, they attest to life after death and shun the common traps of seeking favor and bending to human will. Their inspiring stories are truly profiles in faith.  This Bible Study is paired with a different format study guide, leading participants into personal reflection upon the sacred texts and to encounter them as part of a spiritual adventure.

Over the course of our 12 week study, we will encounter:  Tobit, a devout Israelite and his son, Tobiah, who modeled faith in the face of their peculiar ordeals; Judith, a pious widow who saved the Jewish people from the Assyrians by unladylike means; Esther, an unlikely Queen of Persia, whose courage and cunning faith saved the Jews from destruction; and Judas Maccabeus (and others) who fought oppression by faith, even embracing martyrdom.

We will be using a Liguori Catholic Bible Study guide.  The suggested donation is $10 to cover the cost of the guide.  Sign up by contacting Mary Catino at 952-443-2661 x 200 or Email Mary

*To prepare for the study, if time permits please begin by reading Tobit chapters 1-6.
